The second set of the new Mirrodin saga is a home for knights and weapons, and also powerful tools. On the knight side we have Hero of Bladehold, a white four drop that when it attacks puts two attacking 1/1 soldier tokens into play, as well as Battle Cry trigger to everyone else. Battle Cry is a new mechanic of this set, which gives +1+0 to all the attackers, when the ability bringer is declared as attacker.

 

Another famous knight is Mirran Crusader - the three drop has a dangerous double strike as protection from two colours. But if we talk about weapons, Sword of Feast and Famine are what we need in our topics, as the last incarnation of the “Sword of” gives protection to the black and green, and if the creature touches an opponent, he discards a card and you untap. Super powerful. But powerful cards are not finished yet, as we find some staples of modern and legacy with Green Sun Zenith, a green search and shuffle for creatures, Thrun, The Last Troll, an uncounterable 4/4 with hexproof and regeneration, and Phyrexian Revoker, an ability blocker similar to Pithing Needle, but with addiction of a 2/1 body.


The infect side of the set is kept in a good shape, as Blightsteel Colossus is the infected brother of the Darksteel One, still big and still indestructible, and Inkmoth Nexus is the sister of the old Blinkmoth, trading the +1+1 side of the animable land for the poison triggers. Other cards, strong but less significant are Go for The Throat, a good black removal, Signal Pest, the small one drop with battle cry that became a staple in Affinity decks, Slagstorm, a good versatile red sweeper and Treasure Mage, the best friend of overcosted artifacts in UrzaTron kind of decks.
